Online since 2009
The original fundraising thermometer, trusted by organizations for nearly two decades.

The original, since 2009

The thermometer chart was first published on CodeProject on July 22, 2009 — a technical article showing how to generate a thermometer image dynamically using ASP.NET and VB6, with all parameters passed as URL query strings so it could be dropped into any page as a plain <img> tag. The jlion.com builder launched the same year, letting anyone configure and embed their own thermometer without touching code. That same approach — a single URL, no JavaScript required — is still the foundation today.
